He’s finally taken his place in the hometown library. Yesterday my friend Joe Gemellaro dedicated a sketch of Rocky Marciano to the Brockton Public Library.
Joe, who grew up in both Medford and Somerville, is an artist and a huge fan of boxing legend Rocky Marciano and yesterday his portrait of the heavy weight champ was unveiled and put on permanent display in the main branch of the library in the “Brockton Blockbuster’s” hometown.
Library Director Harry Williams thanked Joe for his gift before unveiling the portrait before a crowd of Rocky fans and a few city officials.
News of Joe’s gift was reported in the Lawrence Eagle Tribune and the Brockton Enterprise.
