This will blow your mind.

You no longer have to struggle trying to peel a garlic clove, wasting time and energy only to get some of the garlic stuck under your fingernails. And although you might like the smell of garlic on your hands, you won’t have to worry about that either.

I’m not sure where I first heard about this trick. But it works and it’s a time- (and aggravation-) saver.

Peeled garlic in hands. Here’s what you do:

  1. Take two metal bowls and put a whole garlic head in one of them.
  2. Cover that bowl with the other bowl, to create a ball.
  3. Shake the two pans with the garlic in them vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Take out as much of the paper skins as you can and then shake the bowls again.

The result is fully peeled and separated garlic cloves: ready, willing and able to flavor your favorite dish!
